Shipper/Receiver

Working in conjunction with the Purchaser the Shipper/Receiver will be responsible to ensure that Service and Project spare parts, consumables and tools are received, maintained, stocked, issued as required and assist in the day to day operating of the shop. Coordinate preventative and required vehicle maintenance. Maintain good housekeeping practices, ensure Service Parts and Contract Parts are properly and timely staged for the trades.  

The specific role and responsibilities are listed below

  • Organizing spare parts for Service and Contract work on designated shelving
  • Cycle counting
  • Signing out and tracking the use and condition of tools.  Ask for re-order as required
  • House Keeping – Shed / 4 Containers / Bay / Stockroom / Upstairs Staging Area / Yard
  • Aiding the trades to find parts in the stockroom as required 
  • Monitoring consumables in Safety Cabinet and fill out the Stock Order Sheet with any requirements
  • Verifying parts that come in to the packing slips and putting the stock away or setting the parts up in the Service and Contracts staging areas
  • Scan packing slips 
  • Record parts that are taken from the stockroom that require re-ordering
  • Including preparation work for scheduled work, supporting unplanned work by optimizing inventory levels and location availability.  Work with the Parts Advisor to create stock min/max for the storage areas.  The Shed / 4 Storage Containers / Building Stock Area and Upstairs Staging Area
  • establishing and achieving inventory levels and stock arrangements
  • Assembling and building raw materials for technicians
  • Assist in the scheduling and preparation of tools and vehicles for repair and maintenance 
  • other tasks and responsibilities as required 

Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision
  • Able to work and communicate in a team environment
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Experience working in a stockroom and knowledge of electrical, plumbing and HVAC materials
  • Strong knowledge of inventory practices
  • Forklift license preferred
